Ad of the Week: Target – Crying Milk

By March 18, 2011Ad of the week

Target logo This is another brilliant example of Target's deceptively simple ads that touch the heart and tickle the funny bone at the same time. They've been doing a great job in their latest campaign, a series of :15 second ads cobranded with one of their products in each ad.

In this one, there is a little girl with an empty plate with cookie crumbs on it and a nearly full glass of milk. She sticks her finger in the glass and puts a drip of milk on the rim. As the drop runs down the side like a tear, she says, "don't cry milk… I miss them too." Simple. Emotive. Well-acted. I like it a lot.

They have other spots in the series that are fun, but none pack the punch of this one. Although the PB&J one does tickle my funny bone. Here are a few more of them.
