Ad of the Week: Chipotle – The Scarecrow

Chipotle The ScarecrowAnother beautiful gem by Chipotle in their on-going campaign about fresh, wholesome real farm ingredients becomes our Ad of the Week. We've honored them here before. And it's hard to argue with this one, as it just won the Cyber Grand Prix at Cannes in the sub-category of Integrated/Multiplatform campaign. The animated video below is absolutely gorgeous and on-point with their current brand narrative. And there's a game app that goes with it as part of the Grand Prix winner.

The animated video follows a scarecrow through his work day at a factory producing overly processed and chemically enhanced foods. He is saddened to see the end result going into the mouths of children and shopping carts of moms. He peeks into another business proclaiming organic food only to see them injecting their chickens that instantly bulk up.

Finally he goes home to his own farm, harvests good ingredients and takes them into the city to make good food that good for you. The whole thing is accompanied by a sad, slightly creepy rendition of the "Pure Imagination" song from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, which works perfectly to set the mood. Well deserving of the top prize, if you ask me. Enjoy!
