Some days you get the bear and other days the bear gets you. When you are up to your… in alligators, it's really hard to remember that your original intention was to drain the swamp. These and many similar statements paint a picture of just how busy our lives can become. I like to stop and try to smell the proverbial flowers every now and then. When I do feel overwhelmed, I do try to pause and remind myself of the 13.5 principles I want to live by. Depending on the day of the week or the year, my success rate varies. In no particular order of importance, I thought I'd share them with you.
1. Is an attitude that is positive, brash, cocky and self-assured. It's happy, infectious enthusiasm. It's a magnetic personality.
2. It's definitely can-do. This glass is always 1/2 full. Get knocked down 7 times and get up 8. It's not over until it's over.
3. It is a rock-solid belief in myself, in my abilities, in my self-worth. It's the passion to always strive to be the best. Not just the best I am capable of, but the best of the best.
4. It's goal driven. It's banging my head against the wall until the wall falls down. It is a dogged determination because failure is simply not an option.
5. Out think the competition. Then out work the competition.
6. Chance favors the prepared mind. Always have a plan b. and plan c. Anticipate what possibly could happen, then prepare.
7. Believe with my soul that success is my destiny and that anything is possible.
8. It's a daily renewal of my mind, my body and my spirit. It's fit. It's trim. It's healthy. Take extreme care in what I feed my mind, body and spirit.
9. Why put off till tomorrow what I can do today. Follow-thru and complete what I start. Remember, 90% of success in life is showing up. Just show up.
10. Take ownership for my problems and don't blame others. Acknowledge my mistakes, forgive myself and then move on.
11. It's SW3N. Some will. Some won't. So what? Next.
12. Know that I don't have as much time left as i did yesterday, but more time than tomorrow. Then, make the most of the time that I do have.
13.5. God meant for me to succeed. Get out of his way and allow him to do his work.
Best Regards,
Mike Morawski
I believe the correct phrasing of rule #13.5 is “Get out of HER way and allow HER to do HER work.” Adding to your list, one of my favorite “Lessons to Live By” is: When you settle for less, you always get less than you settled for.
Heres my list of rules to live by.
1.Stupid is as stupid does
2.If it looks like crap and smells like crap its probably crap
3.Pork chops taste good. Bacon taste good.
4.Lists are dumb
So, what have we learned?
Mike is an upbeat go-getter kinda guy.
Ron’s God is a chick.
Gabe likes pork products and who could blame him. But also smells crap to see if it is crap, which is stupid.
Me, I can be a smart ass, too.
Gabe, you’re gonna need some Aloe Vera… cuz you just got burned, Bitch!
