When it comes to paying attention to what your customers are saying and then engaging them – this campaign from Wheat Thins crackers has it in spades! The whole premise of these spots is that some guy from Wheat Thins is driving around in a van, following tweets about the product on Twitter and then connecting to the customers in question. Then, he engages them in a humorous way, puts the whole thing on video and uploads it to YouTube.
In one ad, they react to a tweet where a guy talks about playing air guitar using a Wheat Thin for a pick. So they surprise him at his house with a brand new "air guitar" and a special box of "picks." In another video, they respond to a tweet where a woman is despondent over just eating her last Wheat Thin. They arrive at her house and make sure she won't be out again for awhile. The spots are well done, funny and engaging.
