Digital technology. You can't hardly swing a mouse over your head without hitting something new and incredible. The mix of how we we bring our clients to market at The Yaffe Group gets skewed more and more into the digital realm every day. And in the last few weeks, I've seen some incredible new digital technology – not related to marketing, but related to health care.
First off, we're working with a new client, In House Diagnostics. Their whole business is predicated on creating a fast, efficient experience using digital technology. They go to nursing homes, prisons and other places where patients can't get out and do tests such as X-rays and echo cardiograms where the patient resides and often have the results sent digitally to the doctor before they even reach their next destination. I remember waiting a week or so to get results.
But the most incredible thing I saw last week, was at my dentist's office. I needed a new crown. And I had one in place before I left on my first visit. Now, instead of making a mold, waiting for it to harden and building a crown around that, he takes a 3D digital image of my tooth after removing the bad parts. He just sprays a little dust on it, sticks a little camera in there and while I watch a 3D image comes up on his screen. He then build my cap virtually on top of that image and 10 minutes later, I had my new cap. No wearing a temporary for a week, while you hoped it didn't fall out. I was blown away.
We talk so much about how digital is changing how we market our products and connect to consumers in the digital realm. But, digital technology is changing every field, not just branding and marketing. How is it changing what you do in your field?
