The Flip cam was one of the first pieces of technology to privilege convenience over function. I recently was reading a tweet from someone laughing at how today's children will grow up asking why there's nothing but low-grade Twit Pic's of their childhood. It's interesting to think about the recent shift in technology and what we're willing to sacrifice in quality for the convenience of contributing to social content.
Below is an excerpt from a fellow communications blog, ragan.com, explaining some benefits to Flip cam use for social media purposes.
“Flip style mini-cameras are inexpensive and easy to use. They’ve become pivotal communication tools."
Social media and technology go hand-in-hand, and here at Yaffe, we are huge fans of cell phone apps and yes, Flip cams to help accomplish client work, as well as for entertainment purposes.
Do you own a Flip-style videocam? How does it fit into your life? Your communications strategy?
Are you conscience of giving up quality for convenience? Do you care?
Cool FYI for all Flip-cam users like us:
Now there’s a 4-hour, hands-on workshop where you can get all of your questions answered.
On May 23, award-winning TV producer and Editor Drew Keller will show workshop attendees how to use different videocams to reach their video communication goals.
