As it is customary for ladies (and guys too) to chit chat, catch up, laugh and mingle at a hair salon, TNT took these timeless actions into consideration and created a unique promotion for the season premier of Hawthorne .
In its third season, this medical drama is getting juicier, or so the teasers say. With that, TNT’s staff enlisted the help of several PR professionals in 10 states across the US to organize an event to debut the show’s third season opener. And guess what, Michigan was one of the states chosen to host! The premier party took place at Salon Ray in Farmington Hills.
The goal was to bring together a crowd to watch the season premier at a designated hair salon in Metro Detroit. This goes back to that thought of a beauty shop being a place where a suspenseful drama TV show would be discussed during all that fun chit chat. It was smart utilization of location and demographic on TNT’s part since it drew in a nice number of folks and created several new fans of the show.
I was graciously invited to the event and certainly had a great time. I had never seen Hawthorne until that night but with TNT’s creative efforts to promote the show in a cool way, plus that nail-biting first episode, they made a believer outta me!
Christina Hawthorne, played by Jada Pinkette Smith, is a Chief Nursing Officer at a hospital in Richmond, Virgina. She finds herself caught in the middle of some crazy drama in the season’s opener.
Here’s an episode synopsys coutesy of TNT:
As HAWTHORNE's powerful third season opens, the very pregnant Christina prepares to walk down the aisle with Tom. But their joy will be interrupted by a series of unfortunate incidents that will challenge Christina both physically and emotionally. At the same time, Nick re-enters and complicates Christina's life when he is called in to investigate a brutal attack in the hospital parking deck. Meanwhile, Tom takes on a new protégé (guest star Derek Luke Antwone Fisher) who catches Camille's eye.
You can watch Hawthorne Tuesdays at 10 p.m. on TNT. Or hear about it in your local beauty salon.
