Well Google has done it again. I'm not talking about their new Google Fiber innovation, I'm talking about another great ad – this time for Google Fiber. It's a beautifully simple ad featuring a toy car that basically represents your internet experience as it travels the cyber highway from dial-up to the new fiber product. There are no spoken words, just a great soundtrack and visuals that tell the story.
In the beginning the music is mostly built out of noises associated with dialup modems. As the technology of the internet improves, the noises in the music start to morph into new noises and eventually into a version of The Cars, "Just What I Needed."
I love the visuals that represent wait times in the beginning. The toy car waits at a railway crossing while the cross bar in front of him reads "loading song" and then at a stoplight there are bars loading to get from red to green.Later, it has to wait at an open bridge as a ship loaded with a large load of data moves through. Eventually it gets to the Google Fiber highway and is racing around in ways never imagined. Once again, nicely done Google.
