The latest web video for Honda features the first ever crowdsourced stunt track for their new souped up Civic Coupe. Honda invited fans to submit suggestions via Twitter and Facebook. Some of them they directed a little bit – like asking what shape pinata they should use and what it should be filled with. The suggestion for a glitter filled dinosaur won. In other instances they were open to completely new suggestions from their fans, using the hashtag #CivicDreamTrack.
In the end they built a track based on the suggestions they liked. In the video, stunt driver Matt Powers switches off between two Honda Civics to run the various suggested tracks, which include painting a picture with the car, riding through a giant pinball course, using the car as a bowling ball and shooting donuts out of color cannons at the car while it completes it's course. In each section, they have a card that has the actual suggestion from the fan's social media account – giving each fan a shout out for their part.
It's a fun idea that certainly keeps your attention. And it's a good use of combining advertising/marketing with social, crowdsourcing and video – which should garner it even more attention. I enjoyed it. Hope you do too!

We're willing to jump on this crowdsourcing band wagon. Got a suggestion for our Ad of the Week? Let us know and, if we agree, we'll use it. It might not be as fun as a giant dinosaur pinata filled with glitter. But, we will give you a shout out. See you next week!
