Over the last few days I've seen some very heart-felt Facebook posts from friends and relatives about their kids going back to school. Posts from my niece and the daughter of some good friends were particularly emotional. Both were mom's who's daughters were heading off to Kindergarten for the first time. Why am I mentioning this in my Ad of the Week post? Because I think Oscar Mayer absolutely nailed that emotion a mom feels when their kids go back to school in their latest spot. They tapped into our heart strings in a way that doesn't feel forced or taking advantage of this emotional time.
In this spot, they first set up the emotions that these real moms feel about sending their kids back to school. Then they in secret have the kids do some nice things for the moms like laying out their mom's "school clothes" for the first day and writing a note to put in mom's sack lunch that they made (with Oscar Mayer, naturally). There's not much more to say, but enjoy it you back to school moms (and dads)!
