Ad of the Week: Coke – Let’s Go Crazy

Coke commercial go crazyThe folks at Coke have been doing some great marketing over the years and this is another fine example. Just happened to stumble upon their new campaign out of Brazil, called "Let's Go Crazy for Good."

The campaign features documentery style (although very well shot) footage of real people who do little acts of good – from simply high-fiving people on the street to planing trees in the middle of hte night to haning swings throughout the city. It's a typical upbeat, feel-good Coke effort, but it still feels fresh. And it ties in well with their overall "Open Happiness" campaign – as these are acts that create real happines – both for the people being filmed and those of us watching.

Below is the long form video for the web. Theyalso  have :30 and :60 second versions for broadcast, including spots that just highlight indivduals from the longer film.

So, did you enjoy it as much as I did? Sure, they're highlighting doing good for profit. One of the other spots feature someone who hands out Cokes to strangers. But, it is after all, still marketing – and I'm okay with that. It's good for broadcast, but I'm sure there's a socail and digital component to it as well. It's really a perfect campaign for social interaction. What simple acts of crazy for good have you seen or heard of?
