ISPCC - I Can't Wait Until I Grow Up commercial

I have to admit, I debated whether I should make this ad our ad of the week or not. It's very hard to watch. It's brutal. It shows a young boy getting beat up by his dad while delivering the message.

It's also a damn powerful ad.

The commercial is from the Irish Society for the Prevention of Creulty to Children. It feature a tough litlte kid delivering the message of how he can't wait to grow up so he can fight for kid's rights and help end abuse. The whole time he's delivering the message an older person (presumably the father) roughs him up. We never see more than really arms and legs of this adult. The abuse gets progressively worse, from just dragging the kid across the room to finally punching him in the face.

The ad ends with a grim faced kid, cut under one eye staring grimly, but determinedly into camera as he delivers his last line. He's monolouge never wavers. Nor does his determination to grow up and do something about it. I usually end this with "enjoy the ad" but I really can't say that here. It's not enjoyable to watch. But, it delivers a strong, powerful message in a way that really gets the point across.
